Two lakh jobs by 2015

Staff Selection Commission (SSC) has been given a target of recruiting two lakh people for central government posts by 2015, Union Minister of State for Personnel V Narayanasamy said today.

From handling 10.3 lakh applications for 6,304 posts in 2008-09, SSC, responsible for recruitment of Group C (non-technical) & Group B (non-gazetted - both technical & non-technical) posts, received 1.6 crore applications and selected 85,000 candidates in 2012-13, he said.

Narayanasamy was addressing the valedictory session of the Commission's two-day Regional Directors' Conference.
