Eligibility Criteria For Driver

Indian citizens having following minimum qualifications are eligible to apply:

Branch : General Duty

Qualification: Bachelor's degree with 60% marks in aggregate of a university recognized by the central/ state Govt./ UGC  and Minimum of 60% marks in maths & physics (aggregate of both subjects) of 12th class or equivalent

Gender : Men

Age Limit:  01 Jul 82 to 30 Jun 91 (both dates inclusive).

Branch : General Duty (a) Pilot (b) Navigator or Observer

Qualification: B.Sc with Maths & Physics and 55% marks in aggregate (Physics or Maths should be one of the subject in final year of B.Sc degree) and Minimum 60% in 12th standard of 10+2+3 or equivalent scheme of education.

Gender: Men & Women Both

Age Limit: 01 Jul 80 to 30 Jun 93 (both dates inclusive).

Branch: Technical (Electrical/ Electronics)

Qualification:

  • Degree with 60% marks in aggregate in Electrical/ Telecommunication & Electronic or equivalent qualification in any of the above discipline recognised by All Indian Council for Technical Education  (AICTE)
  • Have passed section 'A' & 'B' of Institute of Engineers (India) Examination in any of discipline listed.

Gender : Men

Age Limit: 01 Jul 77 to 30 Jun 91 (both dates inclusive).

Eligibility Criteria For Others Category

Branch: Assistant Commandant General Duty(Women) for Short Service Appointment for a period of 08 years, which may be extended to 10 years and further extendable maximum up to 14 years.

Gender: Women (Unmarried)

Qualification: Bachelor’s degree with 60% marks in aggregate from a university recognised by the Central/ State Govt./UGC and with a minimum aggregate of 60% marks in Maths & Physics of 12th class or equivalent.

Age Limit: 01 Jul 87 to 30 Jun 91 (both dates inclusive).

Branch: Assistant Commandant Technical (Mechanical & Aeronautical)

Gender: Men

Qualification:

  • Degree with 60% marks in aggregate in Naval architecture / Mechanical/ Marine/Design/ Production /Aeronautical/ Auto motive / Mechtronics / Industrial and Production/ Metallurgy/ Design / Aeronautical / Aerospace/ Control & Production and minimum 60% in 12th Std of 10+2+3 scheme of education.
  • Should have passed sections 'A' and 'B' of Institute of Engineers (India) examination in any of the discipline listed above with minimum 60% marks.

Age Limit: 01 Jul 82 to 30 Jun 91 (both dates inclusive).

Medical Standards

(a) Height (in Centimeters)

  • Asst Commandant (GD) and Technical: 157 cms minimum may be reduced by 5 cms in the case of Assamese (including those from Nagaland, Mizoram, Meghalaya, Arunachal Pradesh, Manipur and Tripura) Garhwal, Sikkim, Local tribes of A & N Islands and 2 cms in case of candidates from Lakshadweep, mainland settlers in Andaman and Nicobar.
  • Asst Commandant GD(Women) : 152 cms.
  • Asst Commandant (Pilot) (Men/Women): Minimum 162.5 cms and maximum 197 cms, leg length minimum 99 cms and maximum 120.0 cms.

(b) Weight Proportionate to the Height and Age, + 10 % acceptable.

(c) Chest Well proportionate, minimum expansion 5 cms

(d) Eye Sight

  • Asst Commandant (GD) - 6/6(Good Eye) 6/9 (Bad Eye) without glasses
  • Asst Commandant GD(P/N) - 6/6 (Both Eyes) without glasses
  • Asst Commandant Technical - 6/12 (Good Eye) and 6/36 (Bad eye)

How To Apply:

Applications will be accepted 'online' w.e.f. 27 Feb 12. To do so, the candidates need to logon to the Website www.joincoastguard.org.

  • Terms and conditions linked to the form will be displayed and must carefully be read, prior to submitting the form. The candidate will click on the ‘I Agree’ button, and then, immediately the Online Application form will be displayed. The candidate should select the required branch as indicated in para 2 above and fill all the particulars.
  • After submitting the form an acknowledgement with a Registration number will be provided to the candidate along with date, time and venue of the examination. The filled Application Form, with the number generated will be available to the candidate to save and take a print. For candidates NOT meeting the eligibility criteria, a ‘Rejection Slip, giving the cause of rejection with the Application Number’ will be displayed. The dates of applying online is from 27 Feb – 15 Mar 12.
  • After submitting online application, candidates are required to print two copies of the application with number generated by the system. Both copies of the print out of application duly signed with photograph affixed is to be carried by the applicant to the testing centre. Out of the two copies one copy shall be enclosed with class 10th certificate/mark sheet showing date of birth, 12th class certificate along with mark sheet showing subjects, Degree certificate/ mark sheets duly attested by the Gazetted Officer shall also be carried by the candidate for submission at the time of Preliminary Selection. Any candidate who does not carry all these documents at the time of PSB shall not be permitted to appear in the exam.
  • Candidates must submit only one online application. Receipt of multiple applications from the same candidate will result in cancellation of candidature.
