Faced with opposition from Assam Chief Minister Tarun Gogoi and the Congress in Parliament as well as unhappiness from the Hasina government in Dhaka, the Centre reversed its decision on excluding Assam from the purview of its Bill on exchanging land with Bangladesh.
Recently Union Cabinet has cleared the Constitution (119th Amendment) Bill 2013, which allow the operationalisation of the 1974 India-Bangladesh Land Boundary Agreement. The envisaged exchanged of land includes enclaves and adverse possessions from West Bengal, Meghalaya, Tripura and Assam.

The Army inducted the supersonic surface-to-air missile Akash, capable of targeting aerial threats up to a range of 25 km.
The missile system, indigenously developed as part of the integrated guided-missile development programme (IGMDP), will replace Russian weaponry some of which have been with the Army for almost 50 years and are obsolete.
Akash is designed to neutralise multiple aerial targets attacking from several directions simultaneously. Only a handful of countries other than India have a SAM system which can engage multiple targets. These are the United States of America, Russia, a few European nations, Israel and Japan.

The fair trade watchdog Competition Commission of India (CCI) has rejected allegations of unfair business practices against five online retail majors Flipkart, Snapdeal, Amazon, Jabong and Myntra, as it did not find any prima facie evidence of violations. The complaints were filed against Flipkart India Pvt. Ltd., Jasper Infotech Pvt. Ltd., Xerion Retail Pvt. Ltd., Amazon Seller Services Pvt. Ltd., and Vector E-commerce Pvt. Ltd.
It was alleged that e-commerce websites and product sellers entered into exclusive agreements to sell products exclusively on select portals. In recent months, there have been rising concerns that discount sales launched by various e-commerce websites, including Flipkart, were anti-competitive in nature.

Stuart Bingham won the 2015 World Championship final, beating Shaun Murphy 18-15 at Sheffield’s Crucible Theatre to take snooker’s most prestigious title for the first time in his 20-year professional career.
This all-English clash was a see-saw affair, with Bingham resuming 9-8 behind, having been 3-0 and 8-4 down at various stages of Sunday’s opening day in this best of 35-frame contest.
The 38-year-old Bingham, who earlier in the tournament knocked out five-time world champion Ronnie O’Sullivan, then won a marathon 64-minute frame to edge closer to the title before a break of 65 took him to within touching distance at 17-15 in front.
Bingham, from London, then completed his victory in fine style with a break of 88 to become the oldest player to lift the World championship trophy since Welsh great Ray Reardon won the 1978 final aged 45.
