AIFF suspends three players

  • The All India Football Federation (AIFF) suspended three players for misconduct. The AIFF disciplinary committee suspended Dempo SC’s Sheikh Jewel Raja and Prabir Das and Mohun Bagan striker Balwant Singh for two I-League matches after a meeting here. Raja was also fined Rs 50,000.

HIV home test kit goes on sale in U.K.

  • The first HIV self-testing kit that allows people to get a result in less than half-an-hour at home has gone on sale in the U.K. The BioSure HIV Self Test, which claims to have a 99.7 per cent accuracy rate, works in a similar way to a pregnancy test, measuring levels of antibodies in a person’s blood.

Maharashtra Govt signs MoU with Israel to build smart city

  • Maharashtra Government has recently signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with Israel Government to build smart city in Maharashtra. The MoU was signed by the Maharashtra Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis and Tel Aviv Mayor Ron Huldai.

Capgemini acquires iGATE for $4 billion

  • French IT services company Capgemini has acquired the US-based IT services company iGATE for $4 billion. Through the acquisition Capgemeini, which has significant presence in the European market, is trying to widen its presence in North America.
