Connaught Place 5th most costliest prime office market in world

Delhi’s Connaught Place has ranked fifth in the list of most expensive prime office markets in the world, owing to rupee depreciation.

According to a survey by property consultant CBRE, at nearly USD 157 per sqft per annum, Delhi’s central business district (CBD) of CP has gained the fifth spot in the list of most expensive prime office markets in the world.

Mumbai’s alternative business district of Bandra Kurla Complex (BKC), however stood at the 15th position, while Nariman Point was ranked 30th on the top 50 rankings for global prime office properties.

According to the survey, London’s West End remained the world’s costliest prime office market, while Asia continued to dominate the most expensive office locations, accounting for four of the top five markets.
Mustafizur stuns India with five-for to give Bangladesh 1-0 series lead

Amnesty India names Aakar Patel as new chief

Journalist and writer Aakar Patel has joined Amnesty International India as its new executive director. Patel will head Amnesty International India’s operations.

Amnesty International India has a terrific team that does vital work. I am proud and honoured to be working with them,” said Patel. With a background in the textile industry, Patel’s work includes ‘India: Low Trust Society’ (2015) and ‘Rights and Wrongs’, a report on the 2002 Gujarat riots which he co-authored.
India Third on Worldwide List of Dope Offenders

According to the latest World Anti-Doping Agency reports, based on tests conducted in 2013, India had the third highest offenders, behind Russia and Turkey. As many 91 athletes of the country, across various disciplines, failed dope tests, the report listed.

Of the 91, 30 belonged to track and field. Second on the list were weightlifters (19), who have been under a doping cloud for a while. The list also included nine wrestlers, eight powerlifters, as many bodybuilders, seven judokas, four boxers, two swimmers, as many cyclists and kabaddi players, and one apiece from cricket, football, taekwondo and volleyball. -
All over the world, 1953 athletes violated the rules, out of which 1687 were caught for using banned substances while 266 violated other rules. This is the first time that WADA has been able to compile such a report, in collaboration with National Anti Doping Organisations. Sanctions were handed out to athletes and support personnel from 115 countries in 89 sports.
